What are you worried about right NOW?
House payment? Boss? Wife or girlfriend being upset because… boyfriend not finding you attractive any more… maybe where you’re going to live in a month?
Well, there is this perplexing contradiction many struggle with – and a few folks have mastered (about 10% of us). I can help you figure out how to identify those 10%! I don’t consider myself one of them, yet- so I too am still working on mastering this skill.
But they aren’t what this is about – YOU and me, that’s what this is about.
Figuring out how to truly live as presently as possible has become an obsession – because ‘they’ (those that I hope to be like when I ‘grow up’) do it. They live a certain way, they practice certain habits and they get specific results!
One of those habits, daily rituals! Being TOTALLY immersed and present in the NOW, in the process of the task at hand, is apparently vastly important. Check out the video below and let ET try to explain it a bit differently…
His thoughts, re-phrased: Focus on the small things, the little things you can impact. Do those things to the best of your ability, by being totally present, totally focused and master those details… THAT is the key to becoming a master, becoming successful -and it turns out, happiness! (a LOT of research is proving this over and over these days – want to be happy? Let go of anxiety by focusing on the present (not the past or future) and try to make progress at something. This is why ‘weekend hobbyists’ find joy in learning a hobby and mastering it for example. Which hobby is irrelevant -there are people THRILLED that they are good at fly fishing, or motorcycle riding, or needlepoint!)
I’m currently THRILLED to be in the middle of a project where I can SEE where I am. We’ve figured out how to attract potential clients, we are constantly listening and verifying that the solution we have is what they want and need… Now, we are working on perfecting the way the solution is presented to them! Each step is a process – each step has a bunch of learning and developing, and I’m so proud to be associated with awesome people and friends that are helping along this path…
Even though I’ve never met him, this guy has been there more days than not! Highly recommend making him a part of your routine! Enjoy this throwback episode of TGIM:
